Merging companies without loosing information (like deals or contact information)

SOLVE

Hi,

I would like to merge two companies with each other and keep all the information about the deals made and the contact information of the persons of both companies. When I merged two companies and set one of them as the primary company I noticed that the information of the second company vanishes after merging (after a few hours the information is still not visible). In my case I want to keep the information of both companies. I already tried whether I could add for instance the deal of company 2 to the deals of company 1 with the associate existing button, but this was a solution. Does anyone have solution for this?

Kind regards,

Nicole

Hi @NStevens ,

The concept of merging is to remove duplicacy. You cannot keep the information of both companies when merging them
Refer this article here what happen to the properties when you merge company records.

Also remember that once you merge two cooa

Hi @NStevens,

It's not possible to keep the property values of both records, unfortunately. If there is information on the secondary record that you want to keep, you'd have to manually add it to the primary record before merging.

As far as associated deals go, deals from both company records should show on the primary record after merging, as explained here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/companies/how-do-i-merge-companies#associations-and-engagements

This article is a great resource to learn more about the logic behind merging in general.

Hope this helps!
