Merge Function

I need to merge 2 companies - the documentaiton (link below) says I start with the company I'm keeping.... - however, it looks like they've changed how merge works and even if I start at the company I want to retain the system searches all companies and gives me options to merge only companies in the system with duplicate domains (we have a few of those).  The company I want to merge has different domains.  It also says the merge 'search' only runs periodically and will not run again until Monday.  It is odd, am I looking in the wrong place for the merge?

@kathycmiller Hi. check your permissions. When I go to merge I can select anyone typed in.

I am a superadmin so should have no limits.  Any other ideas?

@kathycmiller  strange.  try another browser or incognito. Also clear cache and cookie.
