This question may have been asked before: are there any recommendations to mapping companies upon a contact import?
The use case: our BDR team uploads a list of contacts (prospects) that belong to a multitude of different companies. Some of the companies may be in HubSpot, and others may not.
How can we ensure we are mapping these contacts to companies while not having the unique identifies (company ID)?
The company ID is not the only unique identifier for Companies within HubSpot, the system can also deduplicate companies by the Company Domain Name. (for hubspot for example, that would be hubspot.com). That way, if you add a column with that header, and the corresponding company domain name of the contact; and then import the file as a Contacts & Companies import. That way, if a company isn't in HubSpot, it will be created. If it is, it will update.
