Managing contacts with Business Unites in Enterprise

Hi, a client of us has 3 companies managed on the same Enterprise Marketing Hub.
Some of the contacts/companies in the CRM are negotiating deals with 2 or even 3 of the group's companies and the client wants to separate all the comunication records for eache sales person.
If there are 3 sales people from 3 differnet companies working on the same contat they should see only their own correspondance with the contact.
Can this be done with the Business unite Add-on?
If yes, does it create 3 different accounts for the same contact so each business unite has a separate account for the same contact as if they are 3 separated portals?
