Make research less restrictive and ignore accents

Hi,

I'm new here and trying Hubspot as a potential new CRM for my company.

We are based in France and the french language love accents. One of my concern is the search functionality concider a letter with the accent and without an accent as complety different things.

For example, if I'm looking for a company named "Bon marché", but recorded as "Bon marche" in the CRM, nothing come up in the research. Or the resquests "Château" and "Chateau" return different results.

If my users can't find a company or a contact, they are going to create a new one and we will have duplicate records...

Did I miss an option in the settings to fix my issue ?

Thanks for your help !

Joseph

Hey @jspadone my understanding is that HubSpot's search engine is character specific, so the letters need to be exact - e and é are processed differently.

Are your colleagues expecting to see the company with OR without the accent?

We would like to see both.

If person1 add a company in Hubspot and forget the accent (e.g. BRICOMARCHE),

person2 should be able to find this company if he writes it the good way (e.g. Bricomarché).

Does it exist an search engine option to remove the character specific capabilities ?
