Lists filter not picking up custom field

Hi community -

 

We need some contacts to list more than one owner at our firm, so we've created a custom field that has a drop-down menu. 

 

Here's my problem: When I filter a list of contacts for any single owner, contacts with more than one owner do not appear on the list. I've tried all the filter functions with no luck.

 

Any ideas?
