When I have a contact, and he is sales qualified, automatically a lead is created. When the lead is qualified, automatically a deal is created. What surprises me is that my lead is not associated to the deal. Which is totally not logic.
At contact level: lead and deal associated.
At deal lever: only contact associated not the lead (red arrow)
It looks like this is a contact-based workflow. Check in the workflow that the new record created is associated with the lead when created. If it isn't you may have to add it.
That's the most logical explanation from the details and the screenshot you're showing.
