Lead counts do not match

SOLVE

When pulling leads data manually from HubSpot vs. using our database that receives HubSpot data via Fivetran, we get a slight variance for older counts but very large variance for the last 2-3 days.  Specifically, lead counts are higher via Fivetran then in the HubSpot app.  Not sure why that would be since both are coming from HubSpot.  Leads are worked through HubSpot by the sales team, so it's very concerning if sales team is not receiving all leads until a few days later.

Lead counts do not match

SOLVE

Hey @VM1, thanks for sharing! This is a super valid concern.

Are you able to pull a list of the leads you have in HubSpot and compare it to the list of leads in your database? If there are specific contacts that are in one system but not another, that's a great place to start determining why they're out of sync. Especially if you're noticing it more recently, there may be something with Fivetran that's just not firing for a particular trigger (or at all). I'm also wondering if Fivetran could somehow be creating duplicate contacts in your database? Comparing lists should help answer this if you haven't done that already!

This probably goes without saying, but make sure that the lista you're pulling in HubSpot are indeed pulling in all leads. Is it possible that you have any filters in place that are excluding contacts?

Lastly, what does your lead flow look like? Are all leads coming directly into HubSpot through HubSpot forms/manual creation by your sales reps, or do you have a tway-way sync with your database that pushes info into HubSpot through Fivetran? Since your reps are working leads through HubSpot, you'd ideally have HubSpot as the single entrance point for new leads so your sales team never misses a new lead.

Hope this helps!!
