How does a lead move from one stage to another? Lead receives emails and is converted to a different stage, with different email messaging.  Can this be setup to be automated?

Hi @GTrosper ,

Assuming you already have a setup for sending email. You can automate the lifecycle stage with a simple 2-step workflow.

Trigger: Filter criteria - Marketing Emails - select the mail - Email was delivered to the contact.

OR If it was through a sequence, filter criteria - contact properties (you can choose sequence from associated objects as well) - Sequence - Last Sequence enrolled - select the sequence.

Action: Next step to change to the stage - Edit Record - Property to edit - Lifecycle Stage - Choose Value - select the stage, lead needs to move on.

Let me know if this clarifies your query, if you need by step-by-step guide from sending mail - stage change - mails change, please mention about trigger criteria (form fill, page visit, new contact, etc) and if the mails are marketing or sales ones.

I am a few weeks into hubspot.  I have just loaded initial leads and have created email forms to send.  Yes it would be helpful to get step by step.  What is the difference between marketing and sales email?
