Lead Object - What is the purpose of the Priority field?
SOLVE
Ok, in Leads, I have been trying to use the priority field as built.
I'm a little confused about how to use it beyond advanced filtering. When I go into the leads object and try to sort it, it doesn't seem to make sense on the order it sorts. It's not alphabetical, it's not in the order designated in the field properties, and adding to the dropdown confuses it even more. Also, it seems like Priority should be a quick filter option.
For the "Lead Label", HubSpot keeps the description vague:
Lead Label: current status of the lead. You can edit or add new labels in your lead property settings.
Which is HubSpot speak for "you can use it any way you like, there's no higher purpose for this field". Personally, I am not using it as the status would typically managed through lead stages, and options like hot, warm, and cold are a bit too vague for my taste – but this comes down to personal reference.
And you're right, it's not available as a quick filter, you're not missing things. You can add a filter but unless I'm missing things, not a quick filter that stays. I'm sure the product team will work on this eventually, there have been regular changes on these things recently.
Best regards!

Ah yeah, I’ve bumped into that too! It’s confusing when sorting doesn’t do what you expect. Quick thing: are you using a custom “Priority” field, or the built-in “Lead Label”? If it’s a dropdown you made, HubSpot sorts those based on the order you created the options, not alphabetically or by how you re-arranged them later in the editor, even if you drag them around. Here’s what’s helped me: Go to Settings > Properties, find your Priority field, and re-order the dropdown values exactly how you want them to sort. That order sticks when viewing or sorting leads. One more thing, you’re right, Priority isn’t available as a quick filter. What I usually do is create a saved view with filters like “Priority is High or Medium,” and pin that view. It works like a shortcut. Happy to dig in more if you're using Lead Label instead; that one’s a bit trickier 😅.
