Issue Amended (User Error) - Overdue tasks update last activity date

SOLVE

Currently it appears that when a task is assigned to an object and said task goes past it's due date, HubSpot automatically updates the task with a new due date of the current day. This is fine, except that this also updates the last activity date on the object. So if we are trying to filter down to find the last activity by a USER on an object, this issue makes that impossible.

This sounds a bit unusual to be honest and I had to check my own portal to make sure. I have many tasks assigned to contact or company records for testing purposes with due dates in the past that were not updated with a new due date in HubSpot. I'm not aware of an automatic setting here either that would do this.

 

Could you rule out that this due date is being updated by users? On the task index page, have you checked whether there are any tasks due before today that have kept their original due date? Are you using any integrations that affect tasks?

Apologies, after investigating the task history. It looks as though even after denying to have any automations, the staff member has implemented a workflow to update their own tasks to avoid showing on the overdue tasks report we have setup.
