Insert token into deal name property

SOLVE

Hi All,

Is it possible to insert a token in the deal name property?

This is to facilitate that the naming convention is followed more easily.

thanks!

Insert token into deal name property

SOLVE

Hi @Edyta7510,

This has been requested already in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community but is currently not supported. At the moment, a deal-based workflow would be the workaround. This workflow would enroll all deals and then set the property value of Deal name. In this step, you can use personalization tokens:

(If you want to use company or contact properties, you'd first have to copy them over using custom deal properties and contact- and company-based workflows.)

Hope this helps!

Hi @SChannon,

You need to set the "Target object" dropdown to deal 🙂

Hi @Edyta7510,

This is now possible with the ability to customize the default deal name (instead of “-New Deal”) for deals created from existing contact and company records and it's now in public beta!  To get access, click on the dropdown in the upper righthand corner of HubSpot, select "Product Updates" and select "In Beta." Scroll down until you see the Beta called "Customize Default Deal Name" and click “Join Beta.” Hope that helps!

Hi Karsten

When you say "(If you want to use company or contact properties, you'd first have to copy them over using custom deal properties and contact- and company-based workflows.)" can you explain how to do this in more detail, as this is exactly what I am trying to do - add the Company name to the deal name.

Thank you!

Hi @SChannon,

In workflows, there is a "Copy property value" action that lets you choose an origin and destination for copying. If you want to copy the company name, it has to be a company-based workflow.

Apologies, still not understanding! I have created a custom deal property called "Company Name", but when trying to copy the company property of "Company Name" across to the Deal Property of "Company Name" via a company-based workflow, it doesnt give me deal property options to copy acoss to - am i doing it wrong?
