Since April 2024, we've experienced an increase in contacts coming into HubSpot tagged with Original Source Drill Down 1 = Auto Tagged PPC and Original Source Drill Down 2 = Content network (adsense or other). They don't have the usual ad activity on the contact's activity but we know these are coming from Google Ads because the Google Ad Click ID is present. Usually they would be tagged with the Google Ads campaign and keyword they originated from. We have tracking templates/utm parameters on all of our campaigns so I'm wondering what would cause this. Is it something with a consent mode setting or the way google is tracking offline conversions? We also noticed the page on which they are converting on is being tagged with ?_gl=1*vnrh02*_up*MQ.. parameters. Has anyone else had experience with this and how did you fix it?
Having the same issue, haven't been able to fix it though. In our experience, most if not all contacts with that source value seem to be some kind of spam.
I understand that you’re seeing HubSpot contacts labeled as Auto Tagged PPC from content networks, with Google Ad Click IDs present but missing the usual campaign and keyword details even though you have tracking set up.
I'd like to tag in some of our Community Champions to see if they have any ideas on this one
I would recommend connecting with HubSpot Technical Support, as Support is included in your subscription and they will be able to provide real-time assistance for this matter, including hopping on a screenshare if necessary.
Thanks and have a great day!
Best, Bérangère
