Incoming Replies not Logged

We're in the process of setting up Hubspot to manage our emails. I am running into issues with incoming replies being logged into Hubspot Sales. If I use the fwd address the messages are logged correctly, but as of yet, I haven't gotten the replies to log automatically.
I spent some time searching but couldn't find much info specific to the Sales system. Most of the articles I found we for CRM.
Anyway, I'm curious if I need to add any MX records or anything in our email system to ensure these incoming replies are automatically logged.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
