Import to or update Invalid Email Address?
SOLVE
Is there a way to update the Invalid Email field manually or automatically? I have a subscriber list from a client with about 8k of the 50k records whose email addresses have been cleaned by MailChimp from hard bounces previously. I'd like to get those noted as such in HS.
I currently have the MC -> HS integration setup and also use Zapier to update/ create new contacts as well as update unsubscribed emails.
There are two properties in HubSpot relating to the validity of emails, both are read-only. One of them is Invalid email address, it's referring to the preliminary formatting validation that HubSpot does by default based on these validation rules.
The other one is Email hard bounce reason, which you could see as the symptom of an invalid email, although it can have reasons beyond the formatting, such as a recipient's strict email policy. This field can only have a value after a marketing email was sent from HubSpot.
Since both fields are read-only fields and can not be edited, you would have to create and use a custom property in HubSpot to track the cleaned-up contacts from Mailchimp.
Hope this helps!

I have a similar request to michaelrm's request. I have a group of contacts that have been identified as having invalid contacts via NeverSource. When I tried to update the standard HubSpot contact "Invalid email address" entry to "1" (i.e., invalid), I discovered the property was a read-only property. In fact, it appears as if a bunch of properties that I'd like to update are read-only (but that's an issue for another community discussion). Bottom line, I have a bunch of contacts that I want to "identify" that I won't send emails to until I fix their email addresses. I don't want to have to create another customer property to accomplish this goal. How can I do this?
