HubSpot calculation triggers Zapier zap, and it's a problem

lösung

I've created a Zapier zap that is triggered anytime a contact is added or updated to Hubspot. The intention of this zap is to transfers some data when someone in our team adds a contact to Hubspot or updates the contact's info.

Well, yesterday 2/8 there was a massive automated update of thousands of contacts in our Hubspot account. The activity history for the update on each contact reads:

HubSpot calculation
Property changed by an update from another property, an associated HubSpot record, or a HubSpot tool like lead scoring.

Unfortunately, this automated process cost us thousands of zaps and maxed out our allotment. Whatever these automatic changes were, they had no effect on the data capture and so all of these zaps were wasted.

Zapier is suggesting that we might be able to filter against these unneeded triggers if we can learn more about what the changes were. The message from the history provides no clues.

Can anyone help?

Hi @Datacate

This sounds really unfortunate and frustrating.

What trigger event are you using in you Zap? Contact recently created or updated? This sounds like it will fire when ever any contact property is updated, but presumably you are only interested in changes to certain properties?

You might have better luck using a static list managed with workflows and the New Contact in List trigger event in Zapier?

Hope this helps?
