How to stop auto-opening action box from Tasks view

Since today, we're experiencing this call box automatically opening when we click on a call task from tasks view. Which is annoying as we use a third party application for our calling and this pop-up covers the customer details. 

 

I found this Auto-open action box setting when you go to tasks from Prospective view. But I want to turn off this feature when you go to the task from CRM-> Task path as well.

At a high level, this behavior is expected given the nature of calling task types; we typically anticipate the task to begin immediately when triggered. 

Unfortunately, I don't have an alternative workaround to prevent this, other than creating the tasks as "To-Do" tasks instead of calling tasks.

Am finding the same issue - the toggle works for the Prospecting view but not the normal task view. If anyone has a solution, I'd love to know! Thanks

Hi @AAdmin7

To stop the call box from automatically popping up when you click on a call task, head to your HubSpot settings. Go to "Sales," then "Activities," and click on "Calling." From there, turn off the "Automatically open call box" option. Make sure you disable this for both the 'Tasks' and 'Prospects' views, so it won’t open up and block customer details, no matter where you’re accessing the task from.

Hi,

 

I cannot see "Sales" on my left side pannel. Is it supposed to be under Tools section?

Yes, if you don't see "Sales" directly on the left side panel, it might be under the "Tools" section or "Objects" in your HubSpot settings. Here's how you can find it:

  1. Go to HubSpot Settings (click the gear icon in the top right corner).
  2. Look for "Objects" or "Tools" in the left sidebar menu.
  3. Within these sections, find "Activities" or "Calling."

Once you're in the correct area, you should see the option to manage settings related to tasks and calls, where you can disable the auto-open call box feature.

I can only see email settings in activities and call settings does not include that box

It looks like HubSpot may have changed things around a bit. Here’s another way to find that setting:

  1. Click on the settings gear icon in the top right corner of your HubSpot account.
  2. In the left sidebar, go to “Objects” and then click on “Tasks.”
  3. Look for any options related to task and call preferences or task automation—this is where you might find the setting to turn off the automatic call box.

If you don’t see the option there or if it seems like it’s missing, it could be that your HubSpot plan doesn't support more advanced customization, or HubSpot might have moved it to another section. It might be a good idea to reach out to HubSpot support for a quick answer on this one!

Yes, everyone experiencing this. Only happens when you open contask through Tasks.

Hi when you go to the tasks list from Prospecting summary page, that button is there.
