How to modify property settings from drop down select and change it to multiple check box ?

SOLVE

Hi @EPB,

It sounds like you're trying to change a property from type dropdown to multiple checkboxes. If the property is already in use (in lists, forms, views etc) and if records already have a value for this property, this cannot be done. You first need to make sure that the field is empty on every record and that it's not used anywhere – only then can you change the property type in the settings.

This can mean exporting the records and their values, deleting the values from all records, removing the references, changing the property type, re-importing the values in the property with the new type.

There is no way to change a property type while it's in use.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Hello, Thank you so much for your quick reply.
Is there a way to automate this or a tutorial?: "This can mean exporting the records and their values, deleting the values from all records, removing the references, changing the property type, and re-importing the values in the property with the new type."
My idea was to create a new property called "property V2" and then manually copy every value stored in the old one, but I have thousands of clients...
Thank you in advance

@EPB exporting and importing will be the fastest option, speaking from experience. There isn't any way to automate this that would not also increase the overall time needed to do this.
