How to keep Company and Contact properties in sync

SOLVE
I could really use some workflow insight on this issue on how to keep properties in sync.

  1. We have two properties that appear on both Contact and Company records: Membership Type, Membership Expiration
  2. When a property is updated on a Company record, we need to copy the properties to all associated Contact records (I can do this workflow, that ones easy... but....)
  3. When a property is updated on a Contact record, we need to copy the properties to the associated Company record, and then go back to #2 above (copy to all associated Contacts)

So...if a contact record is updated it would triggers a workflow to update the company record, which would trigger a workflow to update the contact record, which would trigger a workflow to update the company record.....

Any ideas on how to cleanly solve my problem?

@iamathlete This might be a good use case for a custom "Membership" object. Your current approach won't scale if you have more than one contact per company.
