How to import conversation histories and add/attach them to Companies' or Contacts' timelines?

Hi Guys

I have a database with several contacts and companies that I would like to import into HubSpot CRM. The database also contains calls- and meeting histories I've had with clients in the past that I'd like to import and attach to Companies/Contacts into HubSpot.

Is there a way of importing those conversations and add/link them to companies/contacts' timelines and let them appear in the timeline section of companies/contacts' dashboards? On the import/export spreadsheet that is generated from HubSpot I cannot find any property that would allow me to specifically include those details.

Was this access ever given to the user? If not can someone direct me to the API documentation? Depending on complexity I may be able to write it or have it written myself from an access type database. This is my first issue with HubSpot, you should have a place to dump multiple columns into the timeline as our team can then quickly reference old data and help migrate it to the new without having to go check the old system or for us to find an integration partner

Thank you @roisinkirby I did end up finding that and joining 🙂 any response as to being able to import notes directly into the timeline? or will an API continue to be the only way?

Hi, JonAbt, yes the API continues to be the only way to add engagements (calls, meetings etc.) into the timeline. If you don't want to opt for hiring consultant, you can consider a self-service solution - Import2 Wizard, that has a free option and still allows you to import into the timelines.

I included a short animation below which shows the process of importing calls as an activity type into Hubspot and linking it to contact.

In case the question is still relevant, I suggest you take benefits of the service for an automated data migration Data2CRM.

Our techs can add the data you wich to the existing one and create new relations between records.

But, keep in mind that mentioned process can hide some nuance.

Based on the responses to this question, it looks like we do not have the ability to import calls/emails ourselves, and instead need to go through a 3rd party. Since this can add considerable expense (possibly prohibitive), is there any chance a tool will be added so that this can be done directly by the user? Thank you! -H

As Rami mentioned, you can use a third-party service which utilizes the API in order to import your activites, notes, etc. and associate them to their Contacts, Companies, and Deals. At Import2, we offer this as part of all our standard migrations. It is not possible to import Calls and Conversation details into the Contact timeline in HubSpot. 

If you have development resources though, you can use our Engagements API to add notes, calls, tasks, and activities to the contact timeline. If this is not a possibility then I recommend working with a CRM integration provider like Bedrock Data or Scribe who can help you migrate all your CRM data into HubSpot, including timeline events.
