How to import and associate contacts with companies

Hello,

Is there a way to import contacts and link them to companies, even if they don't share the same domain?

I've tried a couple of times but those contacts with different email domains from the company's site, don't link and a new company is created.

Do you know how can we deal with these situations easily?

Thank you

Hey,

There is a workaround to match contacts to a company by any field, such as “name” or “ID” - or, even by custom fields that you choose. This can be done using a third-party solution: Import2 Wizard.

Hi, @salontraffic!

There is a way to import contacts and link them to companies with another domain  - check out an automated migration service Data2CRM. The tool allows you to transfer all the necessary items hands-off and to map modules/users you want to migrate. It has a free Demo for you to try out.

Hope my answer will help you!

This is possible by adding the contact and the company to the same row in the import file and then use the multiple objects import type.. E.g. you have company properties as columns and also contact properties as columns. Then in the import file the company and contact details are in each row. If you have more than one contact per company then you can simply copy paste the company details so that they are exactly the same and the contact details are unique.

You can use this method to associate any objects (e.g. contacts and deals or companies and notes)

Here is a screenshot to help visualise - the green headers would be mapped to company properties and the blue to contact properties. This would associate the contacts to the company regardless of email / domain.

hope that helps!
