How do you differentiate between inbound and outbound leads?

Hi there, 

How can you differentiate between inbound and outbound leads, looking at their first touch point i.e., if a lead has filled out a form but originally was created through outbound sales activity, this should be classed as an inbound lead.

and what we also do with some customers is create a custom property with special values

to have a better understanding of referrals/propection/others.
