How do I change a contact to become a user in HubSpot?

I am evaluating HubSpot for use in our compnay. I originally set-up a colleague as a 'Contact' in HubSpot but have now made them a 'User' so they too can evaluate and give me their feedback. I have now set them up as a 'User' but they have email tracking history as a 'Contact' that I'd like to retain and merge into their updated 'User' status.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do this?

This thread is from 2017.  We are running into the same issue.  Autologging from outlook setup contacts for people who were not users yet.  We are not making them users.  The merge funcation is nice for merging 2 contacts.  Could the merge function not be upgraded to merge a contact into a user?

Hey @JAM this is not something that is currently possible to do on HubSpot (and not something I believe is in planning). You will need to delete this records on your CRM.
