I can't be the only person who uploads a list of companies and contacts via CSV and the Hubspot Insights defaults every City/State under that parent company to the City/State of the company's HQ.
Example: I upload several companies for Boeing and each of them has a different city and state because they have several locations: Seattle, Charleston, St. Louis, New Orleans etc and there are separate columns for Company Name, City, State etc. However, when I upload them into HS all of the City/State info for every one of these companies defaults to Chicago, Illinois because that is where their HQ is.
Hi @bcornman (Thanks for the ping @roisinkirby!) As it turns out, this is working as designed. HubSpot relies on the information provided by our business database provider. In some cases subordinate offices addresses are provided, but this is random and not under our control. Addresses provided by Insights are not read-only, though. You can change the addresses manually, or upload new information if a company url (for deduplication) is provided on the upload file.
Thank you,
Ed Justen

Hi @bcornman If you remove URLs you will get duplicates. The city/state issue here is currently a limitation of the system. I apologize for any incoveniences this causes.

Hey @bcornman I beleive this is the tool working as designed, but let me double check this with our Product team. As I do - @edjusten have you come accross this before?

Thanks for the reply. That's what I'm having a hard time understanding. It would make sense to me if the parent company had the HQ city/state. OR, all companies uploaded with the company's URL (which I have a column for) will default to the HQ city/state unless there is data uploaded with it.
I'm really surprised that no one else enters different locations and has this problem. Why is there an option to even map city or state if it's just going to default the HQ city? Should I remove the URL column when I upload my CSV? I'm concerned that will create several 'companies' that are duplicates. Hopefully this makes sense.

Hi @edjusten I think I found a workaround for it. I changed the salesforce mapping to use the salesforce value instead of the most recent value. When I upload into SF the city/state are correct and thus update the fields properly in Hubspot. Thanks for the help though!
