How can adding a contact with activity be reflected into a deal?

SOLVE

Hello, I am adding contacts to deals which have had historical activity. The activity with contacts is not being reflected in the deal card. Is there a way to do add a contact and have the activity be reflected?

Hi @NolanBot

If you’re adding contacts to deals in HubSpot and not seeing their past activities show up on the deal card, it’s because HubSpot doesn’t automatically link historical activities to deals when you add contacts.

Here’s how you can fix it:

  1. Manually Link Activities: Go to the contact's timeline, find the activity (like an email or call), and manually associate it with the deal. This will make it appear on the deal card.

  2. Set Up a Workflow: You can create a workflow that automatically associates new activities with the deal whenever a contact is added. This won’t work for past activities but will help going forward.

  3. Check Your Settings: Make sure your default settings allow activities to be associated with deals. Head to “Settings > Objects > Activities” and adjust the association preferences if needed.

Hi @NolanBot ,

The association of the activities from the Contact to Deal should happen automatically but if the deal is  reated after the activitry has been created then it will not be associated with the deal automatically. In that case, you can do it manually

Hope this helps!
Thanks

Hi @NolanBot

If you're adding contacts to deals in HubSpot but not seeing their past activities reflected on the deal card, it’s because HubSpot doesn’t automatically link historical activities to deals. Here’s how you can address it:

Manually Associate Activities: To get past activities onto the deal card, you'll need to manually link them. Go to the contact's timeline, find the relevant activity, and associate it with the deal. This will ensure it appears on the deal card.

Use Workflows for Future Activities: Set up a workflow to automatically associate new activities with the deal whenever you add a contact. This won't apply to past activities but will streamline the process moving forward.

Review Your Settings: Check your settings to ensure activities are set to associate with deals. Navigate to “Settings > Objects > Activities” and adjust the preferences as needed.

These steps should help ensure that relevant activities are visible on your deal cards.

Best regards!
