Hot to Import an Excel XLSX spreadsheet with multiple hyperlinks

SOLVE

Hello,

I'd like to import a spreadsheet with multiple hyperlinks.

For example:

Under "Name of Company" column, there is the actual name of the company with a hyperlink directing to its linkedin page. The next column is the company URL and after that the Lead'd name - with another hyperlink to their personal Linkedin page, and then their professional email and so on.

How do I make sure all the hyperlinks are a) imported into Hubspot b) place in the accurate respective fields where I want them to go?

Thanks!

Hi @Panda122,

HubSpot will probably ignore hyperlinks in your import file, you'd have to make that information available in another column. (Each column in your import file corresponds to one characteristic of a contact or company record.)

For companies, you'd use the fields Name, LinkedIn company page and Company domain name. For contacts, you'd have to create a new custom single-line text property because there isn't a default property for LinkedIn.

It's easiest to name your Excel columns exactly like the properties named above. During the import process, HubSpot will ask you to match columns to properties, see here.

Companies and contacts are different objects in HubSpot, so you need to import them in separate files. As long as the Company domain name and the contact's Email domain match (and you have this setting toggled), HubSpot will automatically associate these records.

You can learn more about how to set up import files correctly here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/articles/kcs_article/contacts/set-up-your-import-file

Hope this helps!
