We are setting up a form for our website where people can submit their resume. We want to block those contacts so only their "contact owner" can see them and the resume they submitted.
You would assign the to-be-hidden contacts to users in a team who should be able to see them. These users could potentially have view access to all contacts in your portal.
All other users would have to be in teams with team only access to records. All the records that they should be able to access would have to be assigned tom someone on their team. This could be sales and marketing teams separately or together.
Since they can only access contacts assigned to someone from their team, they wouldn't be able to see contacts assigned to someone from another team (the group of users who are assigned the hidden contacts but whose permissions are set to view all).
Best regards!

Contacts can't be hidden in HubSpot, at least not by changing anything about the contact. You would have to change the record access permissions of the users to not be able to see this contact.
In other words, you would have to limit the contact record view access for all users to owned only or team only, including unassigned – only then could you hide a contact from them.
For users with view all permissions, there aren't any options which would let you hide a contact.

let's say I want to go this route. I have created a team with the sales and marketing team, who I want to have access to all contats EXCEPT the candidates. How would I set this up? Meaning, All contacts with the owner "XYZ" are blocked from view of everyone on the S&M team.
I want contacts owned by XYZ to only be visible to XYZ.
