Good way of managing leads pipeline?

Hi all,


I've yet to discover an effecient way of using the leads pipeline. 

Looking for help on this matter.

 

Current situation:

  • Right now the automation rules for the leads pipeline is to enter all contacts who are MQL or SQL into the leads pipeline. 
  • Since we use the setting to sync all contacts that belong to a company to the lifecycle cycle of the company, all contacts of that company (if MQL or SQL) gets added to the lead pipeline.
    • This means that if we run a sequence on 200 contacts that are MQL or above, they will all be put in the lead pipeline. 
  • One of the pain points is an inflated lead pipeline that has every person we try to talk with. It should be a more qualitative view that only holds low hanging fruit where we are actively engaged
    • This means we need to find a way to create a higher entry criteria, but at the same time keep it somewhat automated (for example if a lead comes in via the website (i.e MQL). We don't want all contacts from a sequence, but we want contacts from the website. So how do we differentiate between them in the automation process?
  • Sales want a qualitative pipeline that is easily manageable on a week to week basis where we might have a maximum of 50 leads per week or so. 
    •  This means I have to find a way to keep entry criteria high, but still low enough so that it's somewhat automated.

Any ideas?
