I have been trying to get goals working but I feel like it just isn't working, I've tried support and I've had multiple runs at this but I can't see to reliably track metrics.
We run quarterly sales revenue goals across the team. I have, just about, got a pipeline coverage report working but infuriatingly there will be times I find blanks or it doesn't work.
But when I try and create a revenue against goal graph for the sales manager report it will not show the goal no matter how I do it.
I find myself unable to shake the feeling that the goals functionality is trying to do too much at once and isn't really working the way we as sales managers work?
Hi @daveon! This may sound like a really simple question, and I apologize. Have you looked through the Creating Goals documentation in Knowledge Base? I try to start there, then look at Academy to see if there's a lesson.
When creating a revenue goal report, keep in mind the following:
You can add sales goals to a report byadjusting the Display optionsin the report builder. The report must be a single-object deal report that includes a date property. The report must also use theLine or Areachart type.
When using sales goals in custom single-object reports, it's recommended to include a filter for a specific pipeline associated with the goal. Otherwise, all pipelines will be factored into the report.
Revenue goal is calculated as follows: (goal revenue / total number of days in the selected date range) x number of days so far in the selected date range.
For example, if the date range in your report is set toThis month, the calculation would be: (goal revenue / total number of days in the month) x number of days in the month so far.
Vertical bar,Line, andAreacharts with a date property on the X-axis.
Horizontal barcharts with a date property on the Y-axis.
If your report meets one the above criteria, you can add a monthly goal to the report by clickingChart Settings in the Configure tab of the report builder.
Please note:it is not possible to report on team goals.
That last line is very interesting - are you trying to report on team goals?
Beyond that, I agree with @Edouardbrunetot that working one-on-one with someone may be helpful. This feels like an ask that's bigger than just screenshots.

@EBuin hi. With a Pro level hub, I don't know that revenue is part of thew reporting. Revenue attribution is available in Enterprise. I could be wrong, but that's one thought.
I also found this in a search: The Amount in company currency is a calculated property based on exchange rates set in your account. However, this property is used only as a measure or filter in custom reports and does not appear as a property on individual deal records or in the property editor.
So, when creating reports, sometimes the currency option only appears if a filter on currency is added explicitly. Reports may not automatically display amounts in company currency unless you add a filter specifying the currency you want to report in. HubSpot's reporting can require selecting or filtering by deal stages (such as Closed Won) and pipelines to properly display revenues and amounts tied to goals from revenue templates.
Since you have Sales Hub Professional, you do have access to custom single object deal reports and goal reporting for revenues. However, the key to seeing amounts in company currency is to ensure:
Your deals are assigned a currency and amount properly
You add the "Amount in company currency" as a measure explicitly in the custom report builder
You may need to add a currency filter to see the amounts properly formatted and calculated in the company currency
If you still don't see the option, here's what I'd try.
In your custom report builder, add a filter on deal stage to "Closed Won" and your relevant pipeline.
Add a filter or grouping on currency or "Amount in company currency" if available.
Check that your deals have proper currency assigned and closed date values.
If the company currency option is not listed, try recreating the report from the revenue template again, as some templates pre-configure these settings.
See if that helps?

@EBuin I would think you aren't seeing it because it's not set up as a goal in your settings, but without spending time in your portal I'm not sure. That's where I'd suggest contacting HubSpot support and asking to share your screen. They may be able to help walk you through it.
As for changing the revenue goal line or its color, I don't think that's something we can customize, no.

I find using goals within the goals tool pretty ok - its definitely NOT intutive and I have to help my team out every single time. But using goals in reports is horrible. I want to be able to set just a basic company wide revenue goal - not by team/user/pipeline. But I cant see how to do that.
In this case, you should create a "Company" team that includes everyone in the organization. This would allow you to set a company-wide revenue goal without segmenting it by team, user, or pipeline ?
But then you could ONLY set those company wide team goals, correct? As people can only be main member in one team and extras dont count. for goals. So having a goal for one product which all sales are included but then team goals for example focused of different industries would not be possible?
were you ever able to find an answer to this question? I can't seem to create a report that just shows progress against a Company-wide goal because deals created by "extras" don't count anywhere - it's VERY frustrating
Hey! I find the same thing super frustrating so I've decided to just build an app to fix it. We are looking for alpha users so have a look incase this is interesting to you www.lavametrics.com

hi, i cant seem to find the option to include goals in my reports. all i see are the following options: i made an single object report on deals displaying close date measured by amount in company currency. My goals are made with the revenue template. i hav no clue why the option is not showing up for me. i have a sales hub professional subscribtion.

Goals - can anybody get them to work reliably?
SOLVE
Hi, thanks for your reply @Anonymous. i think you didnt understand my properly. My question was about missing the option to "include revenue goal" in a report. i cant manage to see it anywhere if i make a custom report. I can only see it when i begin with the template "deals closed totals vs goal". And also a follow-up question: Can i change the name of the "revenue goal"-line or can i change its color to make it more clearly in the report?
@EBuin I would think you aren't seeing it because it's not set up as a goal in your settings, but without spending time in your portal I'm not sure. That's where I'd suggest contacting HubSpot support and asking to share your screen. They may be able to help walk you through it.

The goals tool is not fulfilling our company's use case either. We would like to create goals that roll-up from the individual contributor level, to their managers, which then roll up to the Director/Department goal (which is our company-wide KPI) to drive accountability and motivation through every level in the company. We are trying to drive alignment to achieve the same goals together. These KPIs have goal amounts that vary month-to-month, and are meant to roll-up based on individual user's KPIs. We want to be able to report on these goals at every level. We need individual users to see their personal progress, day by day, towards their individual KPI goals, for accountability and motivation. We need Managers to see how their teams are making progress, day by day, towards their team KPI goals. And we need top-level leadership to see how their teams are making progress, day by day, towards the company KPI goals. We would like these to be in reports so we can use dashboards that adapt to the individual looking at them. IE Jane Smith, an individual contributor, can go to "My Dashboard" and see all of her KPIs for the month, and how she's pacing so far, day-by-day. We want managers to be able to do the same thing, but for their teams. This would make it super easy to monitor and address low performance as it arises. The issue is I cannot do this in HubSpot with the current Goal tool and Reports. I can either using a cumulative static line reference (not using goals at all) that I manually change each month (does not align the company), OR I can create a daily goal with the duration of a month, and remake the goal every month (a prohibitive amount of work). Either solution has many drawbacks so it does not address my use case well.
