Forms Submissions not showing up

SOLVE

Hi Hubspot Community!

Have been using hubspot for about a year but I recently added hubspot forms to my website and this is the first issue I have encountered.

There is inconsistencies in what information both hubspot and google analytics are advising of in terms of how many submissions have been made and what the most recent submission date was.

Inside hubspot, when looking at an individual form, it says for example "Last submission received: December 7th 2020" in the summary on the top left. but then when I look at the recent submissions, the most recent one is December 6th 2020.

Then I also look at my google analytics for today and it says 2 forms have been submitted.

Does anyone have any trouble shooting guesses?

Im thinking the Google analytics error may be how the form is embedded in wordpress / GA tracking may pick it up as a submission if someone simply clicks on the form? This is only an uneducated guess but also doesnt explain the Hubspot inconsistency either

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Victor,

Im not an expert in Google Analytics and without access to your HubSpot portal, I'm unable to identify the extact problem but it might be worth looking into how the goal is set-up in Google Analytics. Only suggesting this as I know sometimes it can be quite tricky and we have had problems outselves with the goals not aligning with HubSpot.

Forms Submissions not showing up

Hi Victor,

How is Google Analytics tracking the form submissions? Is this through a goal? Then on the HubSpot side, is the HubSpot tracking code implemented on all website pages? And with these forms, are they HubSpot forms or are they external forms that now feed into HubSpot?

Hi Elysha,

Thats correct, it tracks through a goal.

Then the hubspot tracking code is implemented on the website pages that have the form available.

There are hubspot forms

let me know if you have any suggestions

Thanks,

Victor

Forms Submissions not showing up

SOLVE

Hi Elysha,

Thank you for your quick response!

Our website form submissions are low volume enough to be able to clearly see there is an issue with either Google or Hubspot. For example, yesterday Google analytics said that we received 2 form submissions. However not a single form came through to hubspot.

Let me know if there is any other information I can provide that may help in trouble shooting this issue.

Thanks!

Victor

Forms Submissions not showing up

Hi,

I just wanted to jump on this quickly - I have come acorss the same issue previously and had a couple people mention this to me. Myself and my team carried out a few checks and looked into this and came to the conclusion that HubSpot and Google Analytics will always have some discrepancies due to the way both platforms record data. Each platform will determin a page visit, for example, slightly differently.

However, for your form submission issue, I would just check in terms of HubSpot whether the form fill was from the same contact or not as this then may show as only one lead for your analytics. However, in Google Analytics it would then show as one.

Are you able to provide me with a little more information and I can then help understand whether there is a technical issue or whether there's an issue on the HubSpot side? Another thing to note is when HubSpot and Google Analytics updates as again, this can also differ. Some platforms can be instant but some may take some time to update.
