Fork Deals

Dear HS- Community,

we are looking for a way to fork/duplicate an existing deal.

Use case: when we start engaging with a customer, we create an opportunity.

Roughly half of our clients request to do a paid POC halfway through the sales cycle.

If this is the case, we would like to fork the existing deal:

- one deal for the POC 

- another deal for the post POC agreement

This allows us to forecast both deals in our pipeline, but keep the history, contacts etc from the initial deal visible in the forked deal.

Any idea how to do this? 

Creating a new deal from scratch is rather inconvenient as we need to manually copy quite some information.

We are desperate to duplicate deals as well.   50% of our business involves the same sales order for a customer on a monthly basis.  Our sales team is very frustrated that they are not able to enter a deal and then duplicate it with new dates and quantities for subsequent months.

There is, unfortunately, no way to clone or copy a record within the HubSpot UI so creating the new deal from scratch is probably your best option. 

A duplicate deal could be created by doing an export/import or via API, but this probably requires more effort than the above.

Thanks, Phil - but the API workaround would probably be a bit of an overkill 😉
Lets see, maybe we introduce a new pipeline and don't consider POCs in our forecast, as it is no ARR anways..
