Fix Company Domains Based on Associated Contact Email or Company Name

Hi everyone,

I recently completed a large import to update and create company and contact records in HubSpot. Unfortunately, I noticed that some company domains do not match the actual company names, likely due to an issue with the filtering during the import.

Is there a more practical or automated way to correct these mismatched domains, ideally by using the associated contact's email domain or the company name? I'm hoping to avoid having to do this manually, so any suggestions on workflows, automation, or 3rd party tools within HubSpot would be greatly appreciated!

SOLVE

@CDeMares one option would be to export your company data from HubSpot, clean it up in Google Sheets or Excel so that you've corrected the mismatched data and then reimport it.

 

As long as you keep the record ID intact for the correct company that you want to retain the activity for, then you can update the other properties accordingly.

 

HubSpot Support can also revert an import if you submit a request and would like to start over, if you already have activity associated I wouldn't go with this option.
