Hello, I am looking into setting up first touch fields/properties fields and workflows for the following contact objects:
Field/Property
Definition
First Touch Date
Date stamp of the first touch
First Touch Campaign
The first offer/promo that that contact engaged with to enter into the CRM
First Touch Source
The marketing channel that brought the contact into the CRM for the very first time
First Touch Source Detail
Details of the marketing channel that brought the contact into the CRM the very first time
First Touch Source Detail 2 (Optional, depending on your UTM structure)
Keyword specific information from search or campaign-specific information from social media that brought the contact into the CRM for the very first time
First Touch: UTM Campaign
Stored value for the 'utm_campaign' value from the first touch link
First Touch: UTM Medium
Stored value for the 'utm_medium' value from the first touch link
First Touch: UTM Source
Stored value for the 'utm_source' value from the first touch link
First Touch: UTM Content
Stored value for the 'utm_content' value from the first touch link
What is the best way to set this up within HubSpot?
First touch converting campaign: the name based on the campaign ID responsible for the first touch creation of the contact. When using this property in other HubSpot tools (e.g., filters, lists), use the campaign ID instead.
Original source: the first known source through which the contact interacted with your business. This is automatically set by HubSpot. The property options are not editable, but an individual's Original source value can be manually changed to any of the options.
Original source drill-down 1 (formerly Original source data 1): additional information about the source through which the contact first interacted with your business. This is automatically set by HubSpot and cannot be manually changed for the contact. Learn more about the possible values.
Original source drill-down 2 (formerly Original source data 2) : additional information about the source through which the contact first interacted with your business. This is automatically set by HubSpot and cannot be changed for the contact. Learn more about the possible values.
For first touch date, the closest you would get would be
First conversion date: the date the contact first submitted a form.
In terms of the utm parameters, these are either stored in the original source properties (see links above) or you can capture these by creating hidden fields for utm_medium, utm_source etc in forms: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/pass-contact-property-values-with-hidden-form-fields – HubSpot will then capture the parameters that are present on the page the form is submitted on.
