We opted into the beta for applying association labels between objects (e.g. Decision Maker, Advocate, etc. when associating Contacts to Deals).
I'm wondering if there's a way to leverage these assocation labels in reporting as a filter; for our specific use case, we're trying to get a high-level overview of how many Closed-Won Deals are affected by non-company references. We've already added "Reference" as a label, but would love to be able to filter for contacts who have that label.
If unavailable now, would love to know whether or not its planned as part of the full launch of the association label feature in the future.

Filtering reports using association labels
Résolue
The ability to filter reports using association labels is a powerful feature that can provide insightful data analysis, especially for tracking the influence of various roles like Decision Maker or Advocate on your deals. AutoCAD LT 2024 download. Currently, if the beta version you’re participating in does not support this functionality, it’s not possible to filter reports based on these labels directly.
I think the solution presented above is a very clever one but it is a partial one.
It excludes all data with different labels from the whole report which is not always the desible outcome. The best solution would be to "bring" all the data to the report and the then show only the filtered ones.
Let me give an example, similar to the one showed in the video, but simpler one: We want a report to have:
- the company name
- the name of the decision maker
- the number of contacts in the company, including "non decision makers"
Following the solution above, you can not have the 3rd, because it will only count the decision makers. The others will be totaly excluded from the report.
I just tried an other solution, which seems to work better for this example:
2. I created a report based on the list, meaning that the main filter is: contact must belong to the list. Then I can use all the data I want to formulate my report. I can have the number of associated contacts for every company, showing all of them, not only the decision maker
I would appreciate your feedback and i would be happy to answer any questions or share screenshots.
Thanks very much for the solution - we can now view association labels on our deal reports! However, has anyone found a way to produce an exception report e.g. only show deals where the association label is 'unknown'? Many thanks in advance!
Hi Diana Thanks for your reply - much appreciated 🙂 The issue we are having is - we can view association labels (in our particular case, contact association labels on deals) which is good. However, we can't then view deals where the association label is unknown/has never been set. We are trying to create a report that flags where association labels have not been set. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Hi @GWebb6 and @FMaher, hope you are having a great Friday!
After investigating that's the expected behavior, since these labels don't work as properties we won't be able to configure to set, for example : is unknown.
I encourage you to create the idea here. This way it will be seen by the product team, therefore it will have more chances to be implemented in the future 🙂

Thanks for the video. Came across with the same issue wherein if the deal record has multiple associated contacts, and I only want to show the Primary ones. Good thing we are religiously adding the association label to primary contacts in case there's two or more in the deal. Now we don't see the deal record appearing more than ones in the report.
PS: "I Didn't realize that there was that option on Data Source to uncheck 'all contacts' until I watched your video"
Is it possible to report on association labels? I need all contacts from partner companies (specific companies) on a deal to have a 'partner' association label. If I run a custom report displaying all deals and associated contacts and companies - I can't see if the contacts from partner companies all have the label. Is there a way to view this?
Our product team, who monitors the Ideas Forum regularly, can read your specific use case and understand why this would be a useful functionality or change.
Thank you,

We desperately need association labels to be managed similarly to properties. This would allow us to use them in workflows effectively and filter them without weird workarounds. We are super excited about the new association labels, but the lack of automation and basic abilities make them near impossible for us to use.
I agree. We've had lots of options for grouping together contacts who share a certain trait in relation to ANY deal of theirs. The new feature we need is a way to see which traits they have in relation to which deals all in once place. If a contact is a seller on 3 deals and a buyer on 7 others, I could always have used a custom property or a list to designate that this person is a seller and a buyer. What I still can't do that would be very useful is pull a report showing me in one place the names of all the person's deals and which role they play on each deal.
To ensure partner contacts are kept out of workflows, we need to ensure all partner contacts on deals are labelled. I need a way to check there is a labelled partner contact on every deal. At the moment the only way for me to check this is to go into each deal individually (very tedius and time consuming).
If a cross-object report shows both deals and contacts, I would like the association label between the deal and the contact to be a column on the report.
