Filtering reports using association labels

SOLVE

Greetings,

We opted into the beta for applying association labels between objects (e.g. Decision Maker, Advocate, etc. when associating Contacts to Deals).

I'm wondering if there's a way to leverage these assocation labels in reporting as a filter; for our specific use case, we're trying to get a high-level overview of how many Closed-Won Deals are affected by non-company references. We've already added "Reference" as a label, but would love to be able to filter for contacts who have that label.

If unavailable now, would love to know whether or not its planned as part of the full launch of the association label feature in the future.

Thank you!

Use of association labels in reports has been SOLVED.  Here is a screencast I made to help anyone looking to add important association labels to their reports: https://vimeo.com/778558624/02bec0a223

The work around would work for contacts but we are using the association labels to identify roles on a deal that are separate from the main client contacts such as Architects or Project Managers or Quantity Surveyors.

We then want to list all the deals where an Architect (for example) hasn't been associated. These association labels definitely need to be reportable fields to be useful on deals.

This seems like a viable 'work around' but for long-term solution the Association Labels should be treated as all other properties and available for use in Workflows, Reports, etc. without the need to first create a 'list' which is really a Marketing actitivity not sales or services activity.  So how would I identify all companies that do not have a primary contact defined?

Karsten,

Appreciate the idea! That actually should work in a pinch for us as we can then use the list membership as a filter on the report section as well.

Thanks again,

Greg

Hi @GEiselt,

Association labels are not supported for use in custom reports, see here. However, in some scenarios you can work around this by filtering your report by a contact list, as contact lists allow you to filter for labels:

You can find the instructions here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/associations-enhancements-beta#filter-by-associations-in-lis...

Hope this helps!

I noticed we have the ability to include the association labels in custom reports now. Does this forgo the need to use the list membership workaround? image (1).png

Please see the comments below - I don't think this is solved b/c can not use in reports and also can't add this to list views.  So if I am viewing a customer and look at the contacts association card on the right - it will show me (in random order unless you can help there too) 3-4 contacts.  So I may see Contact A with Association  'Lead Architect' | Contact B with Association 'Primary Contact' | Contact C who has no association and then a link to show the rest of the contacts.  But if I click the link - I now have no way of showing the Association Lables so how do I know what 'type' of contact they are?
