Filter sort issue

Using filters and then sorting by name. Due to the frequency of individuals to multiple companies, there is a number after the last name.  The sort for the name should still list in alphabetical order yet it is not.  Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Confirmed --
HubSpot appears to be sorting the default Fullname field by Lastname+Firstname

In your example shown, sorting is correct when using these sort settings because of the numerics included at the end of each Lastname. Remove the numerics and the problem goes away.

This also means any contact missing a Lastname will float to the top of the sort. (by design)

Hope that helps.

Was thinking about that ...

As an alternative 'sort key', you can build your own custom Fullname-sort property (singleline text) without the numbers and use it as your sort key. That way you have the data without the numerics for easy reading AND with the numerics (for your internal purposes).

Zapier will do this easy.

Good luck.

@MFrankJohnson Frank, how can I use the filter "contains exactly" to sort by first letter of last name? THanks.

Can't think of how that'd work, but if Lastname is all you need to sort on just add the Lastname property to your filter and let HubSpot sort it out.
