Filter Contacts by Deal Stage?

SOLVE

Hi,

I rely heavily on my Contacts List view in HubSpot. I need to be able to filter the list by which stage the associated deal is in, though. What I mean is I need to be able to see my contacts that have been sent a proposal or have I am waiting for a contract from. Seems like a simple thing but I don't seem to be able to filter by that. I can filter by how many deals they have but not what's going on with those deals.

I know I can go filter the deals but I want to be able to see this from the contacts view.

Also, is there an easy way to see the total number of contacts in a filtered view without increasing the page size and then clicking Select All? Would be nice to be able to glance down and see 48 Contacts next to where it tells me there are 2 pages with 25 per page.

Loving HubSpot otherwise, though 😉

Thanks!

Ben

Filter Contacts by Deal Stage?

SOLVE

I found a workaround that worked for me.

Problem: Need to find all contacts with Deals in Stages other than Closed Won or Closed Lost for the purpose of sending promotion email to prospects who are thinking of signing a contract.

Solution:

1) Export All Contacts view

2) Export All Deals with filter "Except Stage Closed Won Or Closed Lost"

3) Using Vlookup in Deals exported file, use the Customer Last Name field or ID field as the lookup criteria.

4) Using Vlookup in Deals Report correctly will return the email address from the Contacts Export file for only those Contacts who have an open deal (IE: Not Closed Won or Closed Lost)

I did not show vlookup step by step in order to keep this post short but if you need help using that excel function for this purpose, reply here or message me if possible and I can help

Hey @juliacoleman

Have you tried what @KWalker suggested in his comment?

Contacts -> Lists -> Create New List -> Select "Deal Properties" -> Deal Stage -> Search Deal Stages from drop down menu.

I hope this helps

Best

FYI... for all following this thread... this last suggestion with the List worked for me.  I'm able to create a List that does all the filtering on the Deal and apply it as a filter on the Contact list to get a list of Contacts with certain Deal association properties.  Nice work Hubspot.

Hi @DCoalson,

Thanks for reaching out!

Have you tried the method that @bautrey suggested?

I would suggest either using a list to achieve your goal or building a custom report that filters contacts by their deal stages

Best,

Kristen

This is a no brainer. Please consider adding this feature. Limiting filtering to the category options makes no sense.

I agree with this, the ability to subdivide the deal stage would be very helpful for review in the company and contact profile

Under contacts, you can create a list and you can set up lists to be tied to a deal stage.  From here, you can export those contacts with that deal stage.

Contacts -> Lists -> Create New List -> Select "Deal Properties" -> Deal Stage -> Search Deal Stages from drop down menu.

Once you created your list, you can click on "Actions" to export.

Hi

If you can send me a sample of data you'd like to use I would be happy to create the formula for you and send you the finished product. Of course you can change any sensitive data to protect your information if necessary. Just hard to create the formula for you without having the data in front of me as i'd need to see the cells that need to be referenced.

Filter Contacts by Deal Stage?

SOLVE

Hello @bigsis,

Welcome to the Hubspot Community and thank you for your question.

At this time it is only possible to filter contacts by contact properties, deals by deal properties and companies by company properties.  The reason you have the ability to filter contacts by the number of deals is because it is a contact property.

You can view up to 100 contacts per page.  All you have to do is click on "25 per page" next to the pagination at the bottom of the screen, and change it to 100.

I hope this helps clear things up!

Thanks for your input Brett, however it will be a wonderful option to add the Deals under the contact view, so we can track deals associated with contacts.
