Document "Relationship Type" in Hubspot (beyond parent/child)

SOLVE

Is there a way to record details about the relationship between parent and child accounts in Hubspot?

We have accounts that are franchisees of other accounts and would like to record this relationship (in Salesforce the way to do this is with a custom object, custom objects are really expensive in Hubspot....)

Hi @nychd,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

Have you already considered using association labels?

I also wanted to ask a couple of subject matter exeperts for their advice:

Hi @Alex_Elborn@louischausse@franksteiner79, do you have any recommendations for @nychd? Thank you!

Cheers

Hi,

We actually made a blogpost (https://www.introw.io/resource-hub/the-3-ways-to-manage-your-b2b-partners-in-hubspot-and-attribute-r...) on the 3 ways how you can manage your B2B partners in HubSpot.

There are 3 options:

  • Custom properties (video)
  • Company associations with labels (video)
  • Custom objects (video)

Let me know if that's usefull. 🙂

This looks like it might be exactly what I'm looking for, thanks!

Update: It's not because I quickly learned parent->child relationships with companies in Hubspot must be 1:1 at the moment. So that blows this whole train of thought out the window!

+1 for @MiaSrebrnjak's suggestion on association labels. They're pretty amazing for helping orgnanize relationships.

HubSpot isn't a standard Partner Relationship Management (PRM) tool as much as it's a CRM. But if that's what you're looking for, with custom objects for affiliates and the like, let me know. I have information on how to make that happen.

@nychd  Without enterprise and custom objects, I'd use association labels as @MiaSrebrnjak mentioned.

But if you're looking to set up a full PRM, you'll need custom objects. Our soultion is called RocketPRM

I don't think your product solves for what we're trying to solve for (also, it would be cheaper at that point for us to just use Salesforce).

Good luck though!
