Document links - tracking code

Hi,

I have the Hubspot Tracking Code installed on my website. When someone fills in the form, I successfully can see their page visits. However, my question is - does that also work when sending documents in emails to clients? In other words, if I send a hubspot document link in an email from Hubspot, when the contact clicks on it, does it associate their 'browsing' with their contact record in Hubspot the same way a form does?

If you use documents (with dedicated tracking capabilities), yes: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/documents/use-documents

If you share a direct link to a file from the file manager, then no, as the tracking code is not executed on the file link itself.
