Deleting Templates

SOLVE

Hi Community,

How can I delete email templates in my Hubspot account that I do not own? When I want to delete the templates I get the message that they are included in a sequence, but there are no sequences in our account that I can delete them from. Perhaps you can delete the templates for us?

It's not possible for us to contact the template owner, because they no longer work for us and I can't contact them. Is there any other possibility, since we as PMA are the owner of the account?

Kind regards,
Suzanne

If Hubspot is still seeing a link to an asset that is using the template (whether active or not) it will not allow you to delete the template. If you are having issues tracking down which sequence it may be linked to, your best bet may be to open a support ticket and have Hubspot help you drill down to what asset is preventing you from deleting this template.

Deleting Templates

Hi @PMANederland,

To delete email templates in HubSpot that you do not own and that are included in sequences, you can follow these steps:

  1. Access Rights: First, ensure you have administrative rights in your HubSpot account. This is crucial as you'll need permissions to modify or delete content created by other users.

  2. Locate the Template: Navigate to your email templates by going to Marketing > Email, and then find the Templates tab. Here you can search for the specific templates you want to delete.

  3. Check Dependencies: Even though you mentioned there are no visible sequences, sometimes templates may still be linked to inactive or hidden sequences. You can go to Automation > Sequences to double-check if the templates are indeed used.

  4. Request HubSpot Support: If the templates are still showing as part of a sequence and you cannot find or modify these sequences due to the owner's account being inactive, you should contact HubSpot Support. Explain your situation and request their assistance in removing these templates.

  5. Admin Intervention: If HubSpot support cannot assist directly, another option is to ask for administrative intervention from someone within your organization who has higher or equivalent administrative permissions to make changes to content owned by former employees.

Since the template owner is no longer with the company and you’re facing difficulties due to this, HubSpot support will likely be able to provide the necessary assistance or grant permissions to resolve the issue.

Sincerely,
