Deal tracking for product(s) launch

We intend to use one deal name for each product launch. 

Questions -

- has anyone done this before? if yes, any feedback?

- can snippets be used to duplicate a deal name?

- best way to export list for shipping?

While I have not done this before, I did want to speak to points 2 and 3

1. Snippets for deal names: as deal names are a single line text field, snippets are not an available point

2. Exporting list for shipping: I would recommend either creating custom fields for shipping addresses within the deal, or building a list of contacts and exporting the contacts with shipping addresses included.

UGH, I am custom fielded to death. This could cause duplication.  

custom field needs shipping - yes or no with a blank for the rest. 

it is likely we will not remember to change from yes to no.

What can be done from tasks for this?

Deals cannott be closed yet, is that correct?
