Deal Stage History Import

Hello everybody, 

We are changing our CRM system from Zoho to Hubspot at the moment. We are working with a third party to perform the data migration via an API. However, the deal stage history cannot be done through the API. We would like to keep track of the "Average Time spent in Deal Stage" for the deals from the old system as well as new deals created in Hubspot.

There is a standard dashboard "Deal time spent in each stage" already but we are told that it only works for deals created in Hubspot. 

My questions are as following:

1. Is there any way to import historical deal stage duration data to the background of this dashboard?
2. We can import the old deals. Is there any way to change the details section of deal stage property? As far as I'm told, the history of deal stages of Hubspot deals are present in details of the property.  Hubspot must be keeping the data on some table in the backgorund where it saves the deal stage changes. Can we reach the database and import the deal stage changes to these tables?

This would be super helpful for anyone that's not starting from absolute scratch on HubSpot (seems like most??) Would be awesome if there was a solution! 🙂

Hi @AS42 

There are several Read Only Properties in Deals.

Unfortunately you cannot (as far as I know) update the Date Properties (e.g. the Date the Deal changed Stage) neither via the API nor Import.

Hey @AS42 

There are a few different ways to import data into HubSpot, depending on the format that this is in (you can find out more about this here).  For other data is either possible to import by working with a developer and the HubSpot API or by using a 3rd party integration that such as Import2, Data2CRM, or Trujay Group that provide migration services for most major CRMs.

Also, I'll tag a few experts to see what other ways they used.
