De-Duplication of contacts by LinkedIn URL (or other non-E-mail property)

SOLVE

HubSpot Community - does anyone have any suggestion as to how someone can de-dup their HS database using a contact field that is NOT an E-mail address.

Many of our contacts have multiple E-mail addresses but have a singular other type of contact field (i.e. LinkedIn URL).

If our use case, it would be EXTREMELY helpful if we could de-dup using a contact's LinkedIn URL.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hi @MStagen,

This is currently not supported within HubSpot, automatic contact deduplication is based entirely on email addresses as unique identifier.

I haven't used it myself yet, but Insycle for HubSpot might offer deduplication on specific fields. It isn't stated explicitly on the product page but there is a free trial: https://www.insycle.com/hubspot/

Thanks @PamCotton.  In our experience, people have so many E-mail addresses these days that using E-mails as the primary de-duping mechanism for HubSpot is becoming increasingly ineffective.

It would be GREAT if HubSpot could allow people to pick other fields to use for de-duping contacts.  For example, people might have a bunch of E-mail addresses over their careers but will likely keep the same LinkedIn URL.  In that use case (ours LOL), it would be SO MUCH EASIER to de-dup via LinkedIn URL.  (P.S. - This use case could also be applied to other fields - Instagram URL, Facebook URL, mobile phone number, etc...)

Thanks for all of your help!!

- Mark
