Data Migration from Copper to Hubspot CRM

Dear Community, 

I am trying to migrate the data from our existing CRM (Copper, formerly Prosperworks). The export from that CRM generated three excel files (People, Company & Opportunities).

I am now trying to import these, but I am having trouble to get the associations between the three objects to function i.e. that a contact is linked to the right company and deal.

In terms of the logic, do I upload the differnt associated pairs? (as three files is not possible?i.e. Contact + Company; Company + Deal; Contact + Deal or is there another way?

Having said that, do I need a unique identifier for all three or "just" between the differnt pairs?

Problem solved. 

We enabled automatic Company creation from Contacts.

Uploaded Contacts + Deals, using a unique identifier between the two objects. 

Exported Deals and tied the Deal ID created from Hubspot to our Company file. 

Upload Deals and Companies to associate those as well.

Hi @Schenavp,

Have you seen this resource which discusses how to associate records via import? 

You can use the object id for the record types to associate them through the import process.

Hi Jenny, the link on your second comment was to an article about de-duping, which I believe may have been a mistake. Could you confirm please?

I'm currently in the process of migrating from Copper to HubSpot myself...will share any notes if I find something new.
