Custom Quotes: Changing / Editing CMS Template
SOLVE
What's the purpose of the "Edit CMS template" button on the Custom Quote template Settings page?
1. If you click it, you're taken to the @hubspot>cms-quotes-theme and given a message that you can't change it, but you can create a child theme, which sounds fine...
2. I created a child and built a custom module that I needed to appear on the quote template, but there's no way to switch the template on the Quote Settings page...
So, that button is kinda just trolling us from what I can tell 🙂
"The Edit CMS Template" option is there for HubSpot users that have created their own CMS template. Our default templates use their own CMS templates cannot be edited.
However, as outlined here you can develop your own CMS template if you have a Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription to do so and developer resources. There isn't a way to swap out the CMS template that is used from within a quote template in the no code editor if you create a CMS template. You would be able to use the new CMS template when creating a new quote template from their quote settings."
Hope this helps clarify the button's purpose!
Best,
Kristen

Hey @spatrizi-cv I agree! I suspect that this is just somewhat of an oversight, as quote templates it built off the CMS backbone, this is one of those settings that just falls within the cracks. Realistically you can't add custom templates to a quote or add a completely customised quote template. The quote templates that are there are all you can use.
I would imagine this is both fallout from using the CMS to build quotes but also maybe a planned feature for the future.
@kvlschaefer this may be an issue to bring up with the quotes team!
