Currency not displaying on fields on Company recordSOLVE

I have currency fields created on my company records but the '£' symbol is now longer diplaying. The fields are set up as 'Number' fields and I have enabled the 'display number as currency' field. I have the currency set up correctly in the Account settings but it won't display the currency symbol.
