Creating task on new contact creation

SOLVE

I'm new to hubspot CRM (using free tools for now). Is it possible to create a task every time a new contact is added, or is there an existing way to find new contacts to be contacted? I want to be able to see the list of new contacts I should email.

Hey @lorismaz at this time, it is not possible to automate task creation once a contact is created, but this is certainly a great idea and I would reccommend posting this as a feature request here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

In answer to the second part of your question, HubSpot CRM can show you slices of your Contacts based on certain criteria so you can easily view only the data that matters to you for prospecting. You can use the sidebar on the left side of your screen to add a filter for any property on that object. Please note though, each filter is added constructively ("AND" not “OR”).

One property you could use for example is 'Last Activity Date' to know who has/has not been communicated with.

This knowledge article provides a full breakdown / understanding of how you can use Custom Views in the CRM for prospecting: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/articles/kcs_article/contacts/creating-custom-views-for-prospecting

I hope the above is of help! 🙂

Thanks for the info! I tried using the `Lead Status` criteria being unknown and I would update the lead status after I contacted a customer, but your idea for `Last Activity Date` seems easier as I won't have to update anything. Thanks for the help! I'll post on the feature request forum about auto tasks.
