I would like to create a property for our deals that says which country the deal is in. We often have clients with projects in different countries and the project manager can be the same on 2 different projects in different countries.
I have found out how to create a custom property, but I can't choose to link it to HubSpot's country database. The only option I can imagine so far would be to make a new list with all the countries and it feels like it should be a better way to do this.
There is no option to link to an underlying database to pull country information. What you could do however is create a "dropdown" field and copy the values from the "Contact" country property to the "Deal" country property.
This would ensure that both properties have consistent values and reduces the effort required by you to implement this. Here is a screenshot showing how this works:
Step 1: Create a custom dropdown property on the Deal object and select "load options"
Step 2: Choose to "copy from property"
Step 3: Select the Contact property you wish to copy values from:
Happy to answer any other questions you might have on this!

I'm trying this, but for some reason I am only getting strange properties I can choose from (see screenshot) non of which are the Country/Region property.
If your trying to copy an entire property group this would not be supported in the tool. The solution I was recommending supports copying the options of a single property into another property. So if you have a Country field with 100s of options you could easily copy those 100 options into a Company property with relative ease.
