Creating a report for Company lists

Hi, 

I want to create a report based on the number of companies in various lists and was wondering how best to do this? 

When I tried to create the report via Create Custom Report > Single Object, the data property ‘list membership’ was only applicable for ‘contacts lists’ rather than ‘companies lists’ - so I wanted to check there is a way I can run a report on specific company lists?

Hi @HannahSarsfield,

The option to filter for company List membership is not available in reports, unfortunately, neither in the old nor in the new custom report builder. You could request this in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community to alert the product team.

As far as workarounds go, you could create custom properties to "label" (bulk edit) all companies in a list and then report on the values of these properties. Not ideal, I know.

I'm trying to do this too (filter a company report on list membership), and I can't see this option. Searching for list membership as a criteria brings up nothing. Has it been removed since July or am I doing something wrong?

Hi @HannahSarsfield,

In the new Custom Report Builder (Menu > Reports > Reports > Create custom report > Custom Report Builder) and select companies as the primary report source, you can filter a report by company List membership and display the Count of companies.

This will filter the whole report by a company list. In this case, you'd see the number of contacts in this particular list. (It's not possible to do this for multiple lists in one report.)

Yes of course - I'd like to add a few different company lists to one of my dashboards, in a graph format. This is so I can quickly see how many companies are in each list?
