There is some good news for you. First, you might not need those two parallel workflows anymore, at least not for dates. There’s an update you can activate on your portal. It creates two new properties called 'time since' and 'time until'. These properties do the calculations you want with the 'today' property.
Time since, displays the time past.
Time until, displays the time remaining.
Most people are archiving those complicated looping workflows now.
Alternatively, there’s an app in the market that generates the 'today's date'. Tick Tock Today is free for one object. You can use it for your deals, for example. It works well, and you can give it a try.

Create and maintain 'Today's date' date property without Ops pro

Hey @mangelet , thanks a lot for the valuable input! I just signed-up for the option in my product update page. I will test it as soon as HubSpot validate my request, if they finally do it.
You can find the option in the "Product's updates" page. You then have to sign-up the the beta. However, in my case, it seems that HubSpot has not validated my request and I won't be able to use this feature.
